Learn about over 800 years of miniature art, culture and craft in the British Isles, and then apply that knowledge to create a miniature piece of your own.
Perfect for those interested in expanding their artistic repertoire to include traditional British cultural elements and styles, individuals who have an interest in history and for individuals who would like to learn a new and rewarding hobby.
This workshop features two sections:
a)a lecture showcasing eight hundred years of miniature art, craft and creation in the British Isles
b) a hands-on workshop where miniature artists assist you in producing a miniature creation of your own.
Sections are separated by a luncheon where attendees are able to ask questions and discuss the lecture with the workshop facilitators.
Workshop supplies include:
– fine point Sakura pens
– high quality pencil sharpener, eraser and fine pencil
– sample pack of miniature-appropriate materials (fine sanded pine, high-quality acid free paper, ceramic cameo)
Workshop section will provide a variety of pigments, paints to add color to your miniature, allowing you to experiment with traditional and modern methods of miniature creation and find your preferred style.
